Welcome to planDisney, Eduardo! Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is coming up soon, so I'll be thrilled to help plan your magical day. I'm actually quite envious that you'll be experiencing everything at
Magic Kingdom Park for the first time; I wish I could recapture that feeling.
My first tip is to begin your day early. We old-timers call it rope-dropping the park, which basically means you're there before the park officially opens. When the proverbial rope is pulled back to allow guests to enter, you'll be first through the gate when crowds and wait times are at their lowest
Your first stop is to get a First Visit button at City Hall. Cast Members will write your name and date on the button, and if you display it proudly, I suspect you'll get plenty of folks wishing you a magical day.
Take your time when you first arrive to soak in Main Street, USA. If the Dapper Dans are singing, stop to listen. Take photos in front of Cinderella Castle and spend some time in the hub. You'll never have the chance to see it all for the first time again, so revel in the pixie dust! I'm getting chills just imagining it, Eduardo.
Now that you're in the Disney frame of mind, I recommend doing one or two activities in each of the main sections. My family likes to begin in Tomorrowland, where we head straight to
TRON Lightcycle / Run. And to reward myself for being so brave, I like to grab a coffee at the Joffrey's stand near Space Mountain.
From Tomorrowland, I recommend going to Fantasyland and traveling counterclockwise to hit all the areas in Magic Kingdom. You'll save steps by not criss-crossing the park, and you'll get to see it all. Remember that you don't have to ride every ride and see every show. You'll be able to ride many attractions during
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so this first visit is about getting your bearings.
Since the park closes early that day, I recommend having lunch at a quick-service location to save time. I love sitting down for a leisurely meal, but for this particular situation, I vote you grab a bite at
Columbia Harbour House. The Lobster Roll is my favorite!
According to the calendar, the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will be at 2:00 PM when you visit, and I like to watch from Frontierland. Talk about Disney nostalgia; this parade always gets me in the feels.
As the day winds down, browse the
Emporium for a souvenir to commemorate your first visit. If you can find a dated item with the year on it, that's even better!
Since Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 PM, I suggest you take the monorail to one of the resorts for dinner. You can check for reservations at spots like the
Grand Floridian Cafe, or opt for a quick service meal at one of the hotels. This will keep you in the Disney bubble a little longer!
