I'm the lucky mom of three little foodies (10, 8 & 3). We've been to many of the most highly recommended table service there and are thinking of trying something new. What would you do -- Marrakesh, Rose&Crown or go back to an old favorite? THAN

    Hi Susan,

My family has that discussion all the time - Should we go back to the tried and true favorite restaurants or branch out and go for something new? Usually during each trip we try to do some of both.

If we're at WDW for a five night trip, we might do three or four nights of dinner at old favorites and one or two nights somewhere new. Our ultimate goal is to eventually have eaten at every Disney restaurant.

If you've never eaten at Restaurant Marrakesh or Rose & Crown, I certainly encourage you to give these a shot. Sometimes folks are intimidated by the menu at Marrakesh if they're unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cuisine, but there's no need to be. The food is delicious and much of it is quite simple. One of my husband's favorite dishes at Walt Disney World is the Marrakesh lemon chicken, which is braised chicken with garlic and lemon. It's not fancy, but soooo good. And if you do want to be more adventurous, there are more exotic options such Beef Brewat Rolls, which is beef with cinnamon. It's strange at first to most American palates, but once you get used to it, you can't stop eating. As an added bonus, there is belly dancing for entertainment at Marrakesh. Kids are invited to join in for a lesson, this often a very amusing photo opportunity.

Rose & Crown is styled as a traditional English pub, with hearty fare like fish & chips and roast beef. It's cozy and homey. And they have great selection of beers and ales on tap here. One big bonus at the Rose & Crown is that if you time it right, it's possible to get a great view of the Illuminations show in the evening from this restaurant. Fun!

I haven't really answered your question, but in general my vote is to branch out. Who knows, maybe you'll find your next family favorite when you try something new.

Good luck with your planning. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
