Hello! I’m looking to plan a vacation with my daughters and I want to surprise one of my daughters as a nurse, working so hard al these year. Her birthday day is coming on October. I want to plan something on her honor as a nurse. Do you have any special?

    Hello Bunloeung!

As a nurse, this question warmed my heart. It has been a long and exhausting year for healthcare workers around the world, and I love that you want to honor your daughter on her birthday. I have a few fun ideas for you!

If it is her birthday, let's start with a birthday gift? For the past few years, Ye Olde Christmas Tree Shoppe in Magic Kingdom has sold a Nurse Minnie Christmas ornament. I was given this ornament as a gift from my goddaughter and I absolutely love it! I can't promise they still sell it, but it is worth a look! Another idea would be something pretty from Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A. where they sell Pandora jewelry. I have a Disney Pandora bracelet that I wear frequently. While they don’t sell nurse charms in the parks, they do sell them at regular Pandora stores and online. You could get her a special bracelet with a nurse bead in advance, and then add another bead from Disney to both honor her profession and remember your special trip!

To celebrate you and your daughters and honor your nurse, how about a special photo session? The Capture Your Moment experience is available at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. You’ll get a private PhotoPass session for 20 minutes inside the theme park! We did Capture Your Moment in October and I was so pleased with the results we booked a session again this summer. Pre-Purchase Memory Maker before your trip with a discount and you’ll receive unlimited digital downloads of all the PhotoPass Photos from your trip including attraction photos, magic shots, and all of the photos taken at your Capture Your Moment session!

You may also want to plan a special meal to celebrate her birthday. Advance Dining Reservations can be made 60 days in advance for day Guests, and 60 days before resort check-in for Guests staying in a Disney Resort Collection Hotel. Stop by the restaurant podium early in the day to request a Mickey Celebration Cake! Cakes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so stop by early for the best chance of purchasing a cake.

I have one more little idea. The nurses in First Aid at Magic Kingdom have cool Nurse Minnie stickers, and if you stop by and ask nicely, maybe they would give you one for your nurse. I have one I wear on the back of my badge at the hospital. I hope one of these ideas sounds like a special way to celebrate your daughter, Bunloeung! And thank her from this fellow nurse!
