Cheers, Pauline, thanks for tumbling by planDisney!
When I was a senior in High School, my a cappella choir took a school trip to Disneyland. It was the perfect capstone to a fabulous four years. We received training from Disney entertainers and learned all about facial animation. I walked away with a newfound respect for how hard the
entertainment cast members work!
To plan a trip for your high school dance team, head to
Disney Imagination Campus' site once you've worked out the logistics with your school. They have an entire section dedicated to planning an on-site visit for young artists. I was just perusing their
Dance Disney Workshop, and now I want to join you all! Your team will learn choreography techniques from professional dancers, have a Q&A session with the teaching artists, and learn how to contribute as an ensemble member successfully. Most workshops meet National Core Arts Standards, benefiting your student dancers. When you are planning, make sure to chat with your Disney Imagination representative to verify.
When I went with my choir, we stayed right off-property in one of the
Disney Good Neighbor Hotels. There are so many to choose from, at various price points, so you can tailor your hotel stay to your students' needs. The same goes for park tickets; the
workshop package lets you tailor the ticket type and number of days you wish to visit.
Pauline, I wish you much pixie dust during your planning. Feel free to bounce back to us with any additional questions. Spirit fingers!!
