I'm looking for a nice Disney resort for me, my husband, and 10 year old. I'm picky and since you've stayed at every resort, but one, which is your favorite. I've read reveiws and right now I'm leaning towards the contemporary.

I really think that choosing a resort should be based on personal preference for themeing.  We are Disney Vacation Club members and as such we typically stay in Villa or Deluxe resorts.  My 'Top 3' resorts are the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and the Beach Club (in no particular order).

The Animal Kingdom Lodge has amazing architecture, and the sights, smells, and textures within are exotic and welcoming.  This resort is also home to several excellent restaurants, including one of my favorite signature dining experiences, Jiko.  And waking up to enjoy morning coffee with nearby giraffes is just really cool!

The Wilderness Lodge was actually designed by the same people that later designed AKL, and it has a gorgeous, soaring lobby and amazing views.  There are three eateries here and I really like all of them, and the proximity to the Magic Kingdom here is very convenient.

The Beach Club has what I consider to be the best location on Disney property.  It's a very short walk into the International Gateway of Epcot, a slightly longer walk to the Boardwalk entertainment area, and a 15 minute walk (or a boat ride) away from Hollywood Studios.  It's also home to the best resort pool on Disney property.  Stormalong Bay is a 2-acre mini water park that is fantastic and worthy of a full day of enjoyment.

Now all that said, the Contemporary is a very nice resort.  It's been recently refurbished so everything is nice and new, and there are several nice restaurants to choose from.  California Grill in particular is a great restaurant, with an even better view.  The easy walk straight into the Magic Kingdom is fantastic, and being able to watch Wishes from your resort is pretty magical indeed.  But as I said, it's just a matter of personal taste, and the themeing here doesn't appeal to me as much as it does at the other resorts.

Wherever you decide to stay, I don't think you'll be disappointed.  Have a great vacation!
