Greetings, Ryan!
Welcome to planDisney! This sounds like the best day ever. Characters, fireworks, and Space Mountain. Say no more! Let's go over some tips, tricks, and hidden gems so you can plan a magical day with those little ones.
Your planning is already off to a great start. Staying at a Disney Resort hotel gives you access to several perks, including
early theme park entry! This means you'll have access to some fabulous attractions,
including Space Mountain, 30 minutes before the park officially opens. This is a great way to check Space Mountain off your list. Once you tap into the park, head down Main Street (don't forget to grab a group shot), and stay to the right. A Cast Member will scan your party in for Early Entry, and then it's time to head to Space Mountain. This ride will have a minimal wait compared to mid-day park hours. The line may look intimidating, but it moves fast once the attraction opens! You may also
consider Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Multi Pass gives you access to shorter lines for your favorite attractions, and you can choose 3 ahead of your arrival. Once you scan in for your first ride, you can choose another. Continue to use this pass throughout the day to minimize wait times and maximize fun.
On to character dining, Ryan! The best character spot at Magic Kingdom is
Crystal Palace. You'll dine with Winnie the Pooh and his pals, and you can choose lunch or dinner. (And breakfast too!) This place is a hit with my Ohana, and we stop by every visit. The food is great, and the characters are so much fun. They traditionally stop by more than once, so this means extra hugs and photos.
Finishing the day with
Happily Ever After fireworks is a must. If you prefer to watch on Main Street for castle views and spectacular sparkle, arrive early. At least 30 minutes. Bring some snacks and secure your spot. If the castle projections are not a priority and you're in it for the dazzle in the sky, behind Cinderella Castle is your spot. Most Guests will head for the front, but there are great views behind the castle, and very low crowds. My personal favorite for fireworks with low stress and major magic is the
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party options.
Seats & Sweets gives your whole crew reserved seats, a yummy dessert buffet, specialty drinks, and a great view. All without crowds and waiting. The Pre and Post Parties offer the same great treats and drinks, with reserved viewing in the Plaza Garden. You get full castle views from this spot, and you have space for your little ones to wiggle while they wait!
I hope these tips help you plan a magical adventure!
