I'm looking to book a tour as a surprise for my partner, am I able to book this tour under my account and use it on our trip even though everything else is linked to his account?

    Hiya Samantha!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sending us your question. As a fellow Canadian from Montréal, I was so excited when I saw your question, and I am thrilled to be a part of your planning process, especially when it comes to organizing such a special surprise! A Disney tour truly is the best gift ever, Samantha, and I cannot wait for you and your partner to create magical memories together.

Now let's talk about how you can make this surprise as magical as possible! Thankfully, experiences like special tours do not show up in your My Disney Experience account, so you will not have to worry about hiding it from your partner's plans. However, if you want to plan other surprises for them, here are some things you can do. If your partner shares a My Disney Experience account with you, a simple trick could be to change your account's password. Then, they will be locked out of the account and will not access your plans. Similarly, you can always remove them from your Family & Friends List and make dining reservations or hotel reservations with the correct number of guests without linking every guest to a My Disney Experience profile. Also, you could create a new profile managed by you in your My Disney Experience account. This profile would stand in as your partner's profile, and once you check-in at your Resort Hotel reservation, the lovely Cast Members there will be able to link your reservations to the right profile for you. To make sure your partner does not see these plans, however, make sure to go into your Family & Friends List and change the plan settings. To do this, log into your My Disney Experience account, click on "My Family & Friends," and then click on their profile. If you are using the mobile app, click on the three lines at the bottom right of your screen, then on "My Profile," and then on "Family & Friends List." Once you have selected your partner's profile, select the "Only Plans We Share" option. That way, your partner will not see any plans of yours that they are not linked to, and you will be able to plan your surprises in peace!

Now, Samantha, if you have not yet picked the tour you would like to experience, I would like to recommend the Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom. If you and your partner are animal lovers and love hiking, this trek is perfect for you. This trek gives you the most breathtaking views of your favourite animals like hippos, crocodiles, giraffes and other savanna friends. Plus, getting to eat a delicious meal while overlooking the savanna on a private terrace is an experience I will never forget. And did I mention unlimited POG juice? This experience can be booked online or on the phone with a Cast Member and requires valid theme park admission!

I hope this was helpful, Samantha, and that you and your partner have the most wonderful time on your next Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your trip, don't hesitate to reach out. If you ever wonder if we can answer a question or not, the answer is always: Yes, we Can-ada!

    Have a magical day,
