Hi Jason,
Welcome back to planDisney! In the words of our pal Goofy, "Gawrsh!" It sounds like you made an interesting discovery!
Since multi-day ticket prices do not change seasonally, but
1-day theme park ticket prices do vary based on the day of the week and time of the year, it's possible that there could be some price differences. It just so happens that you're visiting during a time when theme park ticket prices are lower. You are correct that if you're wanting to visit on August 17th and 18th, buying two individual 1-day tickets will save you a little bit of money over the cost of a 2-day ticket. If you want to spread your theme park days out a bit, though (remember: tickets are valid for 13 days from their first use), it's possible that a 2-day ticket would be the better way to go. Please feel free to
purchase whichever tickets are the best deal for your visit!
As you're thinking through the details of your visit, I have a few more tips for you. First, have you downloaded the handy dandy
Disneyland mobile app yet? It's a wonderful tool for checking wait times, ordering delicious bites and beverages, joining a virtual queue, and so much more! And next, if you haven't yet read through the Disney Parks Blog article highlighting
Seven Ways to Make it the Most Magical Summer at Disneyland Resort, I highly encourage you to do so! If you weren't counting down the days until your visit begins yet, you will be after reading that! So fun!
Thanks so much for bringing us another great question, Jason, and please feel free to keep them coming. I hope you have a truly magical vacation this summer!
Missy
