Aloha, Nadia! I am Moana of Motunui. Oops - I mean, I am Michelle of planDisney. I'm so glad you brought your question here today!
If you're anything like me, planning for my
Walt Disney World Resort vacation can almost be as much fun as being
on my Walt Disney World Resort vacation. And when it comes to planning, there is NOTHING I enjoy more than planning for my dining experiences!
Nadia, like you, I'm waiting for the magical reopening of several dining and entertainment options! Personally, I'm a huge fan of the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and have had
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show on my bucket list for a while. Unfortunately, I haven't heard of a reopening date for Spirit of Aloha quite yet! I like to keep my eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog, which always has the most up-to-date information for everything related to the parks - including reopenings! I know this isn't the information you hoped to hear, but I have a few other ideas that you may enjoy, too.
First, I think you will really love dinner at
'Ohana! This delicious dinner offers a family-style meal and is set in
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. When my husband and I visit Walt Disney World Resort, we always try to make an
advance dining reservation here. I dream about the spicy shrimp and the pineapple coconut bread pudding! After your dinner, you can take a walk around the tropical grounds and even stop for a refreshing DOLE Whip at
Pineapple Lanai.
If you're looking for a more theatrical dining experience, look no further than
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto! This enchanted tiki bar offers small plates and tropical libations. Make sure you take your time to enjoy the ambiance... as well as the surprising details that come to life around you! I'd recommend ordering the Uh-Oa or the Krakatoa Punch - trust me. If you'd like to make a stop by this hidden hideaway, you'll want to head to the walk-up waitlist and leave your name and phone number with the Cast Member standing outside. Even though Trader Sam's doesn't open until 3:00, Cast Members often begin taking names at around 2:30 PM - and that's when I'd recommend heading that way!
Nadia, I'm sending you all the faith, trust, and pixie dust that Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show opens before your vacation this August. Until then, I hope you enjoy these fun and delicious alternatives. As my friend Maui says, "You're welcome!"
