Hi Summer, and welcome to planDisney! December is my absolute favorite time to be at Disney World. It’s extra magical with the cooler weather and the holiday decorations throughout the resort hotels and theme parks!
Now, I’m not the only one who loves Christmastime at the Most Magical Place on Earth, so you may have a hard time finding 2 bedroom villas or suites with availability for next month. I did a quick search on the Disney World website, and most are currently sold out for your dates. However, there can always be cancellations, so I’d recommend checking the website periodically or calling the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number. A Cast Member would be happy to talk through the available rooms and find the best option for your ‘ohana!
It looks like there’s more availability for standard hotel rooms, but keep in mind that adjoining rooms aren’t guaranteed. The two rooms would have to be booked separately, but when you check out on the Disney World website, you can note your interest in a nearby or connecting room in the “Room & Amenities Requests” section (it’ll ask you for the lead guest and check-in date of the second room). Requests aren’t guaranteed, so I’d only go with this option if you’re okay with the possibility of being split between two separate rooms. However, Cast Members will try their best to grant your wish!
For easy access to the
monorail and Magic Kingdom, my favorite 2 Bedroom Villa is at
Bay Lake Tower. This Deluxe Villa Resort is attached to the Contemporary Resort, and gives you the option of riding the monorail or walking to Magic Kingdom. Some rooms even have a view of Cinderella Castle and Space Mountain! My family loves to watch
Happily Ever After or
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show from our balcony (and you can usually play the accompanying music from the television in the room!).
If you’re also planning to spend time at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, I love the 2 Bedroom Villas at
Beach Club Villas and
BoardWalk Villas because you can walk to both theme parks (or take the Skyliner or FriendShip boat to Hollywood Studios). And it’s a fun place to stay around the holidays because both resort hotels have gingerbread displays in the lobby (Beach Club Resort’s rotating gingerbread carousel is one of my favorites!). And the nearby Yacht Club Resort has a miniature winter village setup with a moving toy train. While Magic Kingdom may have the classic holiday vibes, I love EPCOT this time of year when the
International Festival of the Holidays is going on. My family loves sampling small plates from the Holiday Kitchens, listening to Voices of Liberty sing Christmas carols, and hearing the Holiday Storytellers share traditions from around the globe at the different World Showcase pavilions. And you can even meet both classic Santa and Santa Goofy.
I’m wishing you the best trip ever during the merriest time of year! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
