Welcome back to planDisney, Angela! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. This is such a magical idea! Being at
Walt Disney World during the filming of the Christmas Day Parade at
Magic Kingdom is truly a special experience. It's like a little slice of holiday TV magic in real life!
You're totally right that Veteran's Day weekend has been a popular time for the parade taping in past years. Historically, the filming has often taken place around that weekend in early November, usually before the parks get too busy with holiday crowds. So your guess of November 8-9, 2025, is definitely a smart and reasonable placeholder to work with.
That said, Disney doesn't typically announce the exact filming dates too far in advance, and they can shift from year to year depending on production schedules, performer availability, and other behind-the-scenes logistics. So while Veterans Day weekend is a great bet, it's not guaranteed to be the final filming date for 2025.
Here's the good news, though: if you're booking a vacation package, you've got some flexibility! Packages allow for modifications down the line, so you could absolutely go ahead and book a room and tickets for that weekend, then adjust your reservation later if the official dates are different once they're announced.
So yes, I think it's a good idea to go ahead and make that placeholder reservation for November 8-9! Just keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and official channels as we get closer for any updates on filming dates. You never know what holiday magic might unfold!
Have a magical day, Angela!
