I'm interested in planning a 'back-to-back' cruise. What is the best way to begin?

    Anchors aweigh, Ann Marie!

Thanks for making the voyage to planDisney; we are glad you are here.

A back-to-back Disney Cruise Line vacation is not only twice the fun, it is twice the magic! To plan your vacation, simply head to the Disney Cruise Line website homepage. At the top of the screen, you will see Explore Destinations and boxes labeled, "Leaving," "Sailing to," and "Departing from." Go ahead and enter the month, destination, and port of departure, but before you select View Dates, you will want to click More Filters and select the ship you are interested in sailing so your results will be narrowed down to one ship.

Once you select View Dates, a new page will open with dates for some fabulous cruises. Depending on your desired port of departure and destination, you usually need to book two cruises of different lengths. For instance, a 3-Night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral on Disney Wish departs on September 13 and returns on September 16. To book back-to-back, you would need to book the 4-Night Bahamian cruise departing on September 16.

Now, the next question is, do you want to stay in the same stateroom for both cruises? Either way, you must disembark the ship after the first cruise and then reboard when the ship is cleared. It might be fun to experience a different stateroom category or even a different side of the ship! The benefit of staying in the same stateroom is you don't need to pack your things after your first cruise, you simply leave everything as is. If you switch staterooms, you will pack your things and your Stateroom Host will ensure that your luggage is moved to your new room before you embark on the second cruise. You will receive information about the debarkation of your first cruise and embarkation for the following cruise on board the ship.

Once you've booked your two cruises, you need to call a member of the Disney Cruise Line team and have it noted in your reservations that you are on back-to-back cruises. Remember that consecutive cruises are two separate reservations so you will need to make deposits and provide Guest information on both at the time of booking. You can also call Disney Cruise Line and ask a Cast Member to assist you with booking your cruises.

I hope this helps you get started in exploring and booking your amazing vacation, Ann Marie! Sail by planDisney any time if you have other questions.

Wishing you many magical memories – times two!
