Hi. I’m headed to POR in June and am assuming Blizzard Beach will still be closed. My family and I would like to play golf at Winter Summerland. Can we still get there by bus with Blizzard Beach closed? If so, how?

Hey, howdy, hey, Katy, and welcome back to planDisney. You have touched on something very near and dear to me and that is Walt Disney World Resort miniature golf. I know you are thinking that it must be easy. Well, in my experience, it is not so easy but tons of fun.

Walt Disney World Bus Service varies depending on the origin of the Guest and the time of year. As of now, Cast Members are saying that Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will have bus service even when Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed. My advice is to ask the front desk at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside or French Quarter if there is a bus once you arrive. If there is then you will likely have to take a bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and then transfer to the bus to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Animal Kingdom Area hotels tend to have direct bus routes to the water park while the rest require a transfer.

If there is no bus transportation then consider the Disney Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft. I love taking a Minnie Van because it drops you off at the closest entry point versus other rideshare options. You also get a bespoke Disney song playlist to keep the magic going.

Katy, I hope this information gets you to the surf and snow of one of Santa and his Elves' most unusual creations. Oh, watch out for Squirty the Snowman on the winter side; he is a trickster! Please feel free to write me back directly with any follow-up questions or for other Disney vacation planning tips.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
