I’m having difficulty booking dinner reservations

Bonjour, Julie! Welcome to....your dinner. Here at planDisney, we love to talk about food, so let's see what we can do to book some magical meals for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit. Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie!

Guests can book advanced dining reservations 60 days before arrival, and guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can book for the length of their stay (up to ten days). Be sure your resort reservation is linked to your account to take advantage of that booking window.

If you're not at a resort on Disney property, you can book dining 60 days in advance on a rolling basis. Dining reservations typically open around 6:00 AM EST. My ritual is to set my alarm to play an inspirational song like "Go the Distance," grab some steaming coffee in my favorite Mickey mug, and log in a few minutes before 6:00.

Here's my favorite way to check dining. Log into your My Disney Experience mobile app and tap the plus sign at the bottom. Select "Check Dining Availability" and enter your party size and date. I typically choose "All Day" to see more openings, and my secret tip is to select "Check Availability for Multiple Days" for any locations on my must-do list. You can also book dining online by following similar steps.

Remember that many popular dining experiences will book quickly, and guests of Disney resorts who check in before you will have access to those slots. And you're visiting during the holidays, making snagging those reservations challenging. Guests can only book one meal per dining period, so if you need to book multiple tables for a large group, you can enlist the help of another member of your party. Book for similar times and tell the host you'd like to sit together when you arrive. They'll do their best to seat you close by.

My family has found that some less flashy restaurants have fantastic food and ambiance. For example, Tony's Town Square Restaurant serves delicious pasta, and we request to be seated on the front porch to people-watch with a glass of wine. You never know when a magical memory will be made!

Julie, if you still need assistance booking specific experiences, please contact the dining helpline. They can't see additional availability but can see your account to help solve your booking issues.

Thanks again for allowing planDisney to help! Please come back with any additional questions. We'd love to recommend our favorite culinary cabarets!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
