I'm getting mixed ans from Bret and Kim. Kim says the rope drop happens before the park opens, depending on EMH. Bret says it happens during normal opening hrs, regardless of EMH. Which is it?

    Yuki,

Not sure when/where I wrote that, but I agree with your description of what Kim says.  The term "Rope Drop" comes from the fact that many times you are allowed to enter part-way into the park, but are held back by a rope before you get to the actual attractions.  At the time when the park is supposed to open, the Cast Members will drop the rope to allow the guest to continue walking toward the attractions.

If there are morning Extra Magic Hours (EMH), then the "rope drop" (if there is one) will happen one hour before normal park opening times, and if it is not an EMH morning, then the rope drop will happen at the normal park opening time.

I apologize, again, if something I wrote earlier was confusing and/or incorrect.  Hope this clears up any confusion.
