Hi! I’m a Florida resident and a Passholder. My mother’s (who isn’t a FL resident) birthday is coming up. I’d love to treat her to the the 3 days for $175 resident ticket. Can I gift this to her for her birthday? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laura!

Your mom sure is lucky to have a daughter living in the Sunshine State. She must be looking forward to her upcoming visit, and celebrating her birthday at Walt Disney World Resort is a fantastic idea! Make sure to stop at Guest Relations on your way into the Parks to get her an "I'm Celebrating" button, as many Cast Members and Characters love recognizing special occasions. Did you know that Mickey is celebrating a big birthday this yEAR, too? Head over to Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom Park so your mom can get her picture taken with the "Big Cheese" himself!

We often get questions regarding tickets, and unfortunately, adults over the age of 18 must have proof of Florida residency to use a discounted Florida Resident ticket. Walt Disney World recently switched over to a "Date Based" ticketing structure, so if you can be flexible with your travel dates, you may be able to find cheaper tickets this way. I'd also suggest checking out the Passholder Extras page, as sometimes you can find special offers on theme park tickets here. There are always discounts on tours and special events, which you'd be able to treat your mom to.  And don't forget that many dining locations offer an Annual Passholder discount if you decide to go out for a special birthday meal.

    See ya real soon, Laura!
