I’m going on my first Disney cruise. On disembarkation day my flight isn’t until 9 pm, so I’d like to spend the day at the Polynesian resort grabbing lunch, getting a drink, and shopping. Will bell services hold my luggage for the day?

    Hi Gabrielle,

Welcome back to planDisney. How exciting that you are about to embark on your first Disney Cruise Line vacation! My favorite Disney vacations include both land and sea. In fact, I'll also be sailing on Disney Cruise Line in June and then returning to Walt Disney World for a few days to extend the magic. So I totally understand the anticipation you must be feeling.

Bell Services at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels provide luggage storage on the day of check-in so that you can head to the theme parks or other Disney fun before your room is ready. And they provide storage on check-out day, too.

Unfortunately, because you aren't checking in or checking out from the Polynesian Village Resort, Bell Services won't be able to secure your bags for you.

You are more than welcome to spend the day at the Polynesian, shopping, snacking or dining. I love getting a Dole Whip from the Pineapple Lanai and eating it next to the waterfall at the Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. (The terrace will be closed until late June because of refurbishment to the Great Ceremonial Hall.) And Tambu Lounge is a lovely place to while away the afternoon with lounge bites and a beverage.

There are jumbo lockers that can accommodate some luggage at Magic Kingdom, but you must have valid admission to access those lockers, which are inside the entrance turnstiles. So I don't think that will be helpful in your case.

I'm sorry I don't have better news for you, Gabrielle, but I'm sure it won't dampen any of your enjoyment of your cruise or your hours at Walt Disney World before your flight home.

Thanks for stopping by with your question. Check back any time if we can offer information, suggestions or recommendations to help you plan your practically perfect vacation.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
