Ahoy, Sonia!
It sounds like you're on track for a magical vacation with Disney Cruise Line! How exciting! Budget, sail date and itinerary are always the three driving factors when I book my family's cruise vacations. Summertime cruises along with sail dates around holidays and spring break can be priced a little higher since these are the most popular times to sail. Booking early for vacations during these times of the year is a way to secure the best pricing. Although the entire month of July is during the hurricane season, Disney Cruise Line will do their best to alter the route if a storm comes into play. I think the most important thing to know is safety is their number one concern. Since there are always unknowns when planning for a future trip, I like to purchase travel insurance for peace of mind. It's the best way to protect your investment in the event of something that occurs that is out of your control. You can purchase
travel insurance through Disney Cruise Line or through independent companies at any time prior to your vacation, but the key is to do so within 30 days of booking your cruise to cover any preexisting conditions.
Sonia, since this will be your first cruise with Captain Mickey, I suggest navigating your way over to the Disney Cruise Line website to familiarize yourself with the ship you've selected as well as the ports you'll be visiting. The
Port Adventure Team does an incredible job of finding the best excursions for all of their ports of call so your time ashore will be just as magical as your time onboard. I also hope you'll use the Disney Parks Moms Panel to view other Guests' cruise questions and ask more of your own! We are always hEAR to help.
Thank you again for sailing by!
Nancy
