    I'm going to D23 Expo in august, I plan to wear a costume there then go to disneyland after, I know people 14+ can't wear costumes on normal park days but I was wondering if I could still bring a costume that i'd change out of into the park?

    Welcome to planDisney and thanks for coming to us with your question. A bunch of my planDisney friends and I are also planning on attending D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August and we're all getting really excited! We're hoping that there'll be some pretty epic announcements this year!

    During the D23 Expo in 2022, there were plenty of attendees roaming around in full costume which was really neat to see. You've stated that you're already aware of Disneyland Resort's Dress Code policies where Guests aged 14 and up are not allowed to wear costumes through the Security Checkpoint. There are no written policies regarding bringing a packed costume in your bag through security, however, so the answer is unclear. Ultimately, it's at the discretion of the Security Cast Members what they allow through. I imagine that they'll realize the D23 Fan Event is in town and to account for Guests visiting the Parks following the Expo, but I can't guarantee what will happen. 

    I wish I could provide a clearer answer for you before you commit to your costume. Who or what will you be dressing as? On Saturday, August 10, 2024, D23 Mousequerade: The Ultimate Disney Costume Contest is being held and I'm sure there'll be some truly intricate designs! In fact, I believe the 2022 winner was an attraction!
