I’m going to Disney World for my Birthday and couldn’t get a reservation for the Cale Bake restaurant at Boardwalk. My question is, do they do walk-up dining? Thanks in advance.

Hey there, Megan, and welcome BACK to planDisney!

How absolutely magical that you'll be celebrating your birthday at Walt Disney World! I truly cannot imagine a more enchanting place to spend such a special occasion. Be sure to stop by the front desk of your Disney Resort or visit any Guest Relations location to pick up your complimentary Celebration Button. When you wear it around the parks, Cast Members and Guests will love wishing you a happy birthday!

A visit to the Cake Bake Shop is definitely at the top of my must-do list. Have you had the chance to check out the Roses of Gold Afternoon Tea experience? It looks nothing short of spectacular – so elegant and whimsical, like something straight out of a fairy tale.

To answer your question, The Cake Bake Shop does accept walk-up Guests, but availability is not guaranteed. Because it's such a popular dining location, reservations are highly recommended. I know you haven't had any luck snagging one just yet, but I encourage you to keep checking regularly — both before your trip and even when you're at Disney World. Plans change all the time, and openings can pop up unexpectedly!

If you'd still like to give the walk-up option a try, feel free to stop by the host stand in person to inquire about any current availability. Additionally, the My Disney Experience app may show a Walk-Up List option when you're nearby, giving you the chance to join a waitlist right from your mobile device if space permits.

Megan, I hope you have the most magical birthday at the most magical place! If you have any other questions, you're as welcome as can be at planDisney!
