Hello! I'm a disney dining plan FIEND and i am curious about room service. Mom and i will be splurging on a boardwalk villa and want to do in room breakfast one day. I know it takes 2 credits but what is included? Can it be per room rather than person?

    Hello Martha!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! While we only do it as a once-in-a-great-while treat, I absolutely love room service, or as it is known at Disney, In Room Dining! There is something that feels extra magical when having your meal delivered right to your resort room.

You can use the Disney Dining Plan for Private In-Room Dining! Each meal includes 1 Entree, 1 Dessert (with lunch and dinner), and 1 Beverage. Those 21 and over may order an alcoholic beverage. You will be charged 2 Table-Service credits for each entree you order, not per person in the room. So if you only order one entree and beverage to share, you would only need to redeem two Table-Service credits. If you each order an entree however, then it would be 4 total credits.

In my opinion, I don't feel this is the best value on the Disney Dining Plan, and I would likely pay cash for Private In-Room Dining, and save my Table-Service credits for a true Table-Service meal. For example, you could both enjoy a full buffet meal at the Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort for breakfast or dinner, or enjoy the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno on the BoardWalk, for the same number of credits as ordering one breakfast entree to your room.

If you do decide to order Private In-Room Dining, and would like to only order one entree to save on Table-Service credits, you could purchase some breakfast items like a pastry or yogurt the day before and keep in your refrigerator to supplement your shared entree. You could make coffee in your villa as well, and order juice as your beverage so there is more to share!

I highly recommend the BoardWalk Bakery for on-the-go breakfast items. Their almond croissant is one of my favorites, and we have also enjoyed sharing one of their breakfast sandwiches. I was even able to have them make one for me on a plain croissant and it was delicious! Their breakfast sandwiches can usually be ordered as a meal on the Disney Dining Plan using a Quick-Service credit, and I feel it is a much better value than the In-Room Dining. I hope this helps with your planning, Martha! Please let us know if you have additional questions as you plan your visit.

    Bon appétit!
