Bon voyage, Gwendloyn, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you found us so we can help you navigate through the planning phase of your trip.
Speaking of navigating, the app you'll need to download onto your phone is called the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. The app has a wealth of information to help you plan for your cruise. When it's your time to book onboard activities and Port Adventures, you can use the app to do so as an alternative to the full
Disney Cruise Line website. Likewise, when it's time to complete your online check in, you can do that on the app as well. My favorite part is less functional and more fun, though. It's the cute countdown clock that helps me keep track of how many more days are left until my trip. The Disney graphic artists really outdid themselves with their use of characters on the clock.
Once you board the ship, the app goes through a magical transformation, much like Cinderella getting ready for the ball. You'll then be able to use it for texting, viewing your dining rotation and menus, checking operating hours for the venues all around the ship and verifying your onboard account balance. My favorite onboard use, though, is keeping track of all the daily activities around the ship. You can search by day or even by category, like movies or character appearances. I like to spend some time on the first day going through everything and placing hearts by the things I'm most interested in. I then get a notification 15 minutes before the start so I don't miss anything. the best part is that you don't need to purchase WiFi to use the app on the ship. Simply connect to the free Guest WiFi for smooth sailing, or shall I say, app surfing.
Gwendloyn, I hope you have a fantastic cruise! Sail back by planDisney with any other Disney vacation planning questions you have.
Let your dreams guide you!
