I'm currently planning a trip to Disney World with a friend who doesn't have a My Disney Experience account. If I order MagicBands before he makes one and links it to my trip, will he be able to connect his account to one later?

    Welcome to planDisney, James!

I'm so excited for you and your friend to share the magic of the 50th Anniversary Celebration together!  Be sure to sample some of the delicious limited-time treats available.  My fam loved the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie at Fairfax Fare in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  This yummy treat is huge and definitely shareable.

My advice depends on how you are ordering your MagicBands.  If you are ordering your MagicBands from shopDisney or purchasing from a merchandise location at Walt Disney World Resort, those can be linked to an account at any time.  If instead, you are ordering discounted MagicBands through your My Disney Experience account associated with a stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, I would advise your friend to create a My Disney Experience account first so his name can be linked to your resort reservation.  You will only be able to order MagicBands for the Guests whose names are listed on the reservation.  Theoretically, if you create a profile for your friend in your account and he later creates his own My Disney Experience account, when you connect your accounts through Family & Friends the names should sync up and his plans should migrate to his account.  However, sometimes this process isn't as seamless as we would hope and it takes a call to tech support to sort everything out.

It should only take a few moments for your friend to create his own My Disney Experience account.  There are several ways to invite Family & Friends to share planning through My Disney Experience.  The easiest way to do this is by using the My Disney Experience mobile app.  Once your friend has created his account, have him use the menu button in the lower right corner on the home screen and scroll to "My Profile", then scroll down to "Show My Linking Code".  Next, log into your account, select "My Profile" and then "Family & Friends List" at the top of the page.  Scroll to the bottom of the list and choose "Add a Guest" and then "Scan their linking code".  There is also an option to manually enter the linking code.

I hope that helps!  If you have any additional questions, please stop by and see us again.  Enjoy your visit!
