I'm currently making plans for 2 different trips to Walt Disney World this year. Would it be better/less expensive to buy tickets on the 1st trip with the no expiration option to use on the 2nd trip or just buy tickets separately for each trip?

There's really no way to answer this question unless we know how many days long your trips are. There have been several years when I've made two or three trips to WDW. Doing the math on this, the general rule of thumb is that if you will be visiting the theme parks somewhere in the neighborhood of ten days during one year, you'll want to look into an annual pass as your most effective ticket option. But again, we would need more information to help you with your question.
