Hey Howdy Hey! From one Elizabeth to another, welcome to planDisney!
I happen to be a cheerleading coach myself, so I'm delighted to help your squad prepare for your upcoming trip!
You're going to have a spirited group on your hands, Elizabeth, and I love that you're planning to spread a bit of that spirit to other Guests by decorating the doors of your Disney Resort hotel rooms. My husband and I recently set sail aboard
Disney Cruise Line, and we loved seeing the many (but also sometimes Minnie) ways that Guests had adorned the doors of their staterooms. As an added bonus, these decorations will also make your group's rooms easy to identify in case someone forgets their room number. (Ask this teacher how she knows that might happen.)
Although my family frequently calls
Disney's All-Star Resorts our magical home away from home, I was unsure of the exact door dimensions, so I reached out to a friendly Cast Member for assistance. She helpfully shared that exterior doors to the rooms of Disney Resort hotels measure 79-½ inches high by 34-¾ inches wide. She also mentioned that while door decorations have become increasingly popular in recent years, Cast Members cannot guarantee that these decorations will remain untouched by other Guests for the length of your stay. If you are concerned that other Guests might mistake your carefully curated decorations as pixie dust up for grabs, you might consider decorating the inside of your rooms' windows instead. Here you could use a variety of items such as banners, window clings, tinsel, or twinkle lights to make you're squad's space stand out. Whichever route you choose, just be sure to select materials that don't damage or leave a residue on the door or window.
planDisney Pixie Dust: If there's a morning when your squad isn't putting in the work to hit zero, I encourage you to take advantage of the
Early Theme Park Entry available to Guests of Disney Resort hotels. This 30-minute head start on the theme parks is a great way to squeeze in an extra ride or two before other guests are able to hop in line.
I hope this helps you, Elizabeth! If you have any questions about transportation or using your event-specific tickets, I encourage you to reach out to my pal
Alison. She's a cheer and dance mom who is happy to share what she's learned through years of experience with her two daughters.
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
