Hi Cora, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! My first ever Resort stay at Walt Disney World was a memorable one. Not only was it a trip to celebrate finishing grad school, but we also went when Walt Disney World was offering a free Disney Dining Plan. It was great being able to sample buffets, character meals, and some of the iconic quick service locations. Now, I recently added the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan for an upcoming Disney Vacation Club stay, so I have just the information you need!
I have some good news for you, Cora. You can apply a Canadian Disney Gift Card towards a Disney Dining Plan purchase! In order to do so, you would need to
contact Member Services and have them manually apply the gift card for payment as the DVC website only accepts credit cards as a form of payment. And as you may already know, when using a Canadian gift card your purchases are converted to U.S. dollars based on the previous day’s exchange rate and you are not charged any additional conversion fees.
Cora, are you aware of the
free dining plan offer for kids (ages 3 to 9) for eligible stays in 2026? You’ll be happy to know that this also applies to our DVC stays! This is certainly a great value for families who vacation with little ones. I know my children will be happy for the included Resort-refillable mug alone! So long as all the adults in the same reservation purchase a dining plan, the kids will receive the same dining plan. Since you’re planning to purchase the Quick-Service Dining Plan, I’ve
linked this handy website that lists all Quick-Service Restaurants participating in the Dining Plan for 2026.
I hope this information is helpful for you as you plan your upcoming stay. If you have any additional questions or would like recommendations on some great Quick-Service restaurants, feel free to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
