Welcome to planDisney, Robert!
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins
tomorrow! With
The World's Most Magical Celebration happening, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival in full swing, and Magic Kingdom Park decked out with fall decor, this is a great time of year to visit!
During most times of the year,
nighttime spectaculars are a daily occurrence. Fall is Halloween party season, when
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on select nights from 7:00 pm to midnight. On days that Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is held, Magic Kingdom Park closes at 6:00 pm for day Guests, and Disney Enchantment is not shown. As part of the party festivities,
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks will be performed for party Guests. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event. Guests must have a party wristband to remain in Magic Kingdom Park when the party begins. I just checked the calendar and confirmed that during the dates of your trip, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place on October 13, 14, and 16.
Disney Enchantment is scheduled to be shown on October 15.
Robert, I am going to let you in on a little secret. October 13, 14, and 16 will actually be great days to visit
Magic Kingdom Park. You see, many other Guests will avoid visiting on those dates because of the shortened hours. That means that those in the know will find lower crowds and shorter wait times than usual, and will likely be able to experience much more even with the shortened hours. Conversely, I would expect October 15 to be busier than usual at Magic Kingdom Park. If your ticket does not include the
Park Hopper Option, I recommend upgrading your ticket as part of a savvy touring strategy. This way you take advantage of the lower crowds at Magic Kingdom Park during the day, and then "hop" over to another park for the evening. For example, you may wish to hop to EPCOT to enjoy a nightly viewing of
Harmonious. Likewise, on the 15th you could avoid heavier crowds at Magic Kingdom Park by visiting one or more of the other parks, and then hopping over to Magic Kingdom Park in time to view Disney Enchantment. You may be able to add the Park Hopper Option to your ticket through your My Disney Experience account. Look for the option to "Change Ticket", or stop by a ticket booth during your trip to add the Park Hopper Option.
If the Park Hopper Option won't work for you and you will not be attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party, you can still get a fantastic view of Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular from outside the park! A great spot is near the ferry landing at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Music from the show is even piped in! Some restaurants at nearby Disney Resort Hotels offer fireworks views, including California Grill and 'Ohana. The marina and boat dock at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are also good spots.
Robert, I am wishing you a wonderful vacation! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
