I’m coming in September for a very special trip. I’m turning the big 30 (hopefully Peter Pan can give me some tips on staying young LOL). It is also my son 9 and mom’s first trip to WDW. I want to do something special for my first timers, any ideas?

Hi, Monica!  There are so many wonderful things you can do to help celebrate a special day at Walt Disney World, but since you brought up Peter Pan, I wanted to mention something that has recently been opened up to all Walt Disney World guests!

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage is not only a great way to celebrate your birthday, but also an awesome way to celebrate a first timer's trip to this magical place!  The voyage takes place on the Seven Seas Lagoon, with guests meeting for snacks and drinks at the Contemporary Resort.  You will meet some familiar pirate villains and then have a pirate host as you float out on the lagoon for your special viewing of the Wishes fireworks display from the Magic Kingdom.  If the timing works out, you'll also get a lagoon view of the Electric Water Pageantt, so you'll get to see two beautiful events from an incredible vantage point.

When you return from your voyage, you might just be able to get those tips on staying young in person!

You can call 407-WDW-PLAY to book the voyage, which runs about $54 for adults, $31 for children.

Make sure when you make your advanced dining reservations that you let them know you will be celebrating a birthday, and make sure it is also noted on your room reservation.  You never know who might have a secret supply of pixie dust they would be able to sprinkle to make your visit a bit more special.  And wear your birthday button!  My kids love wishing guests a happy birthday.

I hope your trip is wonderful!
