Hi John, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Pop Century is such a fun resort with the larger-than-life pop culture icons and easy access to the
Disney Skyliner.
I took a look at the
Disney World website and availability for Pop Century is limited for three to four-night stays around the
Wine & Dine runDisney weekend in October. This has happened to me before and I’d recommend regularly checking the
website to see if your dates become available again. Guests are always changing their plans and I’ve seen rooms come up that were previously fully booked.
I do see more availability for longer stays, so you could also book five or six nights and call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and Tickets phone number to see if it’s possible to shorten the stay. In my experience, Cast Members are sometimes able to modify the reservation depending on availability. Since Pop Century is undergoing a refurbishment, this could mean rooms are more limited than normal. However, it’s always worth calling to check!
October is such a fun time to be at Disney World! In EPCOT, the
International Food & Wine Festival is usually underway. I love to try the event-exclusive food and drinks at the different Global Marketplace kiosks around the park. The offerings are inspired by countries and cultures around the world, and I always want a little of everything! There’s also an Eat to the Beat Concert Series that’s included in regular park admission.
Over in Magic Kingdom, the specially ticketed
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is typically happening on select nights in October. My friends and I always look forward to coordinating costumes and trick-or-treating during this fun event! And my favorite part--there's so much special entertainment, like the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular stage show. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog in the coming months as more details are announced about these two events.
I hope you have a groovy stay at Pop Century this Fall and a magical time running the 10k! If you’re planning to attend the
Post-Race Party, keep in mind that the Disney Skyliner doesn’t always run through the end of the event. Double-check the operating hours that day so you’ll know if you need to head to the front of the park to take a bus to Pop Century after the party is over.
