I’m buying 6 tickets for me and my family who are coming from overseas, do I need to list all the names for the tickets or I can just use mine for all tickets. Thank you

Welcome to planDisney, pal! I’m so glad you stopped by with this great question. Planning a visit with family, especially when they’re traveling from overseas, is always something exciting to look forward to, and I’m happy to help make the ticket process as smooth as possible.

When purchasing standard Disneyland Resort theme park tickets, the system will typically prompt you to assign a name to each ticket. This helps keep things organized, but here’s the helpful part: the name printed on the ticket is not what permanently ties it to a specific Guest. The true moment a ticket becomes linked is when the Guest first scans it at the entrance to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. At that first entry, a quick photo of the Guest using the ticket is taken by a Cast Member, and that photo becomes the identifier for the remainder of the visit. From that point forward, the ticket and the Guest in that photo are matched, which means the ticket becomes non-transferable once it’s been scanned in.

Because of this, it’s recommended to assign a unique name to each ticket before your visit so it’s easy to remember which ticket belongs to whom. It simply helps avoid confusion when your travel party arrives at the gate (especially when everyone is excited and ready to start their magical day). However, if you entered a name incorrectly or used the same name on multiple tickets, there’s no need to worry just yet. As long as the tickets have not been used to enter a park, the Guest who purchased them can contact Disneyland Ticket Services, either by phone or through the chat feature in the Disneyland app. A friendly Cast Member can review your request and see if a name update is possible.

Speaking of the Disneyland app, I recommend making sure everyone in your group has it downloaded before they arrive. The app is your best planning companion. You’ll have your tickets accessible at a tap, plus real-time attraction wait times, mobile food ordering, entertainment schedules, and the ability to make Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections if those are part of your plans. It truly keeps your visit running smoothly from morning churros to nighttime spectaculars.

I hope this helps you feel confident as you prepare for your magical visit. If you’d like more tips or itinerary suggestions, we’d love to welcome you back to planDisney anytime.

Have an incredible day filled with magical moments!
