Hi Jonathan! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
I just spent my last birthday at Disneyland Park, so I definitely have some ideas on how to make this an extra special occasion. As you're planning your visit, check the
Entertainment Schedule, so you can determine which park you want to be in and when. Also, fireworks can be canceled due to weather, so you might want to have a backup plan in place.
"Believe...In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular in Disneyland Park doesn't have reserved seating. However,
Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace: Holidays in Tomorrowland offers festive dining with a bird's eye view of the park. If you can get a reservation, you can come and go or stay all night perched high for a view of the nighttime entertainment, while enjoying a delicious meal. Or head over to Fantasyland to experience the holiday overlay
"it's a small world" Holiday--a can't-miss time of year. After, you'll be in the perfect spot for the nighttime entertainment, including projections.
Disney California Adventure Park lights up the night with
World of Color - Season of Light. For reserved viewing, enter the
virtual queue or present a voucher from a
World of Color Dining Package or
World of Color Dessert Party. When checking in for the Dessert Party, ask for a high table for a great view! You can also view the entertainment around Paradise Bay on a first-come, first-served basis if a reservation is hard to come by.
Dining reservations typically open 60 days out. At popular times of the year, such as the
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, and at popular dining locations, it can be tricky to get your coveted spot. If your choice doesn't have availability, keep checking. Persistence can pay off. When people's plans change, availability does too, and you can swoop in even a day out to grab your perfect reservation.
In addition to entertainment and dining, grab a Complimentary Birthday Button from Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park or City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park! You never know what magic will happen. Another fun option is to add a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to your dining reservation at selection locations. Or pick out the perfect holiday treat before you arrive with the
Foodie Guide by Disney Eats, the official source for dining updates about the parks. And don't forget to take all the pictures!
Disney's PhotoPass Service ensures you'll both be in your pictures, and there are so many iconic locations. Stop at them all! You'll want to frame one to always remember this special visit.
Have a magical day!
