I'm bringing my Nintendo Switch on a cruise. The game I intend to play while on it requires internet connection for most gameplay. What would be the best internet package to choose from? (Vancouver 9/9-9/16, on Disney Wonder)

    Ahoy there, Sam!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. You have an exciting Disney Cruise Line vacation coming up and it sounds like you are already thinking about how you will spend your days at sea!

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when including a portable, hand-held gaming device on your packing list. Devices can't be connected to the stateroom TVs, so plan to play on the device. When it comes to gaming, internet speeds are not what you are used to at home and might make it challenging.

You can choose from three internet packages. Currently, the plans and pricing include (terms, plans and pricing are subject to change without notice):

    • "Stay Connected" allows Guests to access select social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram. Pricing starts at $16 per day when you purchase it for the full voyage and $18 per day, which is 24 hours from the time of purchase.
    • "Basic Surf" includes the "Stay Connected" package offerings plus access to the web, email, and voice calling. It begins at $24 per day for the full voyage or $28 per day when purchased for 24 hours.
    • "Premium Surf" includes the "Basic Surf" package offerings plus short-video formats (such as YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok), as well as video calling and music streaming (such as Pandora and Spotify). Video streaming is not available. Pricing begins at $34 per day for the full voyage or $42 per day for 24 hours.
I don't know the speed or bandwidth your gaming requires, but I'm guessing you will need the Premium Surf package for the best possible experience. To connect, just open your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you board the ship, select Connect to Internet, and follow the prompts.

There is so much to do aboard a Disney Cruise Line voyage, especially an Alaskan cruise, you may not have much time for gameplay. Check your Navigator app when you board to find a complete list of onboard activities and entertainment offered each day of your cruise. Honestly, there is so much to do on every cruise that there is not enough time to experience everything you would like to do! And when there isn't a scheduled activity, there is always the majestic Alaskan landscape to take in and enjoy.

I hope this information is helpful and your cruise is everything you dreamed of, Sam. Please, let us know if you have other questions; we are happy to help!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
