Greetings Kevin and welcome to planDisney!
I am so happy that you are going to be able to make memories with your two-year-old son at the most magical place on earth! I have had the pleasure of experiencing Walt Disney World through the eyes of my young grandsons, and it is the best thing in the world! We actually took our youngest grandson on his first visit when he was only two months old, so we have been able to start them off early!
Your question can really have multiple answers, and they would all be correct! But in my opinion, I would start a two-year-old off at my favorite park, the Magic Kingdom! If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, I would consider getting up bright and early and utilizing the
early entry benefit! This will allow you to enter the park 30 minutes earlier than other Guests. This would be a good time to ride one of the attractions that will have a longer line later in the day like
Peter Pan’s Flight or
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I’d also recommend wherever your starting point is, that you make a circle around the park from that point, so you are not back tracking and adding extra steps for you and your son!
Fantasyland is the chosen land for me when it comes to two-year-olds because of the number of rides with no height requirements. Your son can take a royal ride on the Prince Charming Regal Carousel, head Under the Sea with the
Journey of the Little Mermaid and fly high in the sky with
Dumbo the Flying Elephant! There is also a great little splash pad called
Casey Jr. Splash “N” Soak Station that is near Dumbo that will give the little guy a chance to run off some energy and give you some time to relax!
Don’t forget to take plenty of snack breaks, bathroom breaks, and take the time to just sit, relax, and enjoy the time with your son! A good stroller is also a life saver!
Kevin, if you are staying at a Disney resort, I suggest you take time during the early afternoon hours to head back to the resort for a nap break for your son, and a pool break for you! You’ll have time to recharge the batteries and head back to the Magic Kingdom in the evening to enjoy the park bathed in its nighttime lights!
Kevin, it looks like you are planning an early to mid-week visit in early August to Walt Disney World, so any of those days should be fine for a quality visit with your son!
Kevin, you are going to have an amazing time, and I can’t wait for you to make memories with your son! Take some time to sit down with him and enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
