I'm from Australia, & want to have a DW holiday the 3 weeks before and including Easter 2014. When would be best to visit DW, Before or during Easter? We have 2 kids ages 7 & 11. What about Spring Break v Easter how bad are the crowds &am

Hi Jacquie! I'm just back from an Easter week vacation at Walt Disney World, and while I initially questioned my sanity for planning a Disney trip during this historically busy time of year, I was pleasantly surprised by how manageable the crowds were. Disney offered lots of Extra Magic Hours to compensate for the increase in park visitors, and by getting up really early to take advantage of the morning Extra Magic Hours, we were able to experience all the attractions we wanted with little waiting.

In general the weeks just before and after Easter are periods of peak attendance levels in the Disney parks. If you'd rather not deal with crowds, plan your trip to avoid those weeks around Easter. Next year, Easter falls later in April. March is traditionally a busier month at the parks due to many schools and colleges having Spring Break during that month. I'd recommend you plan your 2014 trip for either early April or late April (after Easter) and early May. With the exception of the days surrounding Easter, you should experience fairly low to moderate crowds during those days. If your three-week trip does fall close to Easter, plan to do most of your park time in the two weeks farthest from Easter and save the Easter week for activities such as enjoying the pool at your resort and visiting Downtown Disney.

Wishing you a magical vacation! Come visit me again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! I'd love to help!
