I'm going to be attending the Darkside 2018 weekend. Would like to know which on site hotels you would recommend for ease of getting to and from the races - I'll be doing all 3. Thanks

    Hi Melinda!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. One of the greatest benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel during a runDisney event is that all your transportation is provided regardless of which hotel you choose!

At this time all the races for Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend- The Dark Side, show an unspecified start and finish location. If you look at other race weekends you may see that they start near the Magic Kingdom or finish near Epcot, but we don't have this detail yet for the Star Wars races. I would normally use this as an indicator of which area hotels may be the most convenient, but unfortunately it's still unknown. At this time, I would recommend using the 2017 course as an indicator, with the understanding that it could potentially be different. These races started in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, for which I've always found Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to be exceptionally convenient! To be honest though, you'll find that all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels have excellent transportation provided to make the weekend as smooth as possible for the runners so choose the Resort hotel theme that mosts interests you within your budget.

I hope y'all have a magical runcation and May the Force be with you on the running course! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
