Jambo, Dyan, and thanks for going on safari with us here at planDisney! Pack up your pith helmet because you'll be at
Walt Disney World Resort before a giraffe can block the road. Since I don't want to keep you in the dark, let's talk about
Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
My husband and I enjoyed this Enchanting Extra a few months ago. I love that guests don't need a theme park ticket to experience this nighttime ride through the resort, and using the night vision device was a unique feature I'll never forget.
This tour is popular, but it's also limited. Our safari vehicle only held about 12 people, and since the goal is to leave the wildlife as undisturbed as possible, excursions are few. For these reasons, Starlight Safari often books up quickly. Guests can make reservations
60 days in advance, and those staying at Disney Resort hotels can book for the length of their stay. I fear that spots for the coming week are taken.
I checked availability online and found an opening for one guest on August 16. All other dates for the week had no remaining seats, but I think you should keep checking. This activity can be canceled up to 24 hours before, and guests often change their plans. I booked seats at a stoplight a few days before my visit!
If you can't check availability for some reason, I would suggest you make sure you're logged into your account. I sometimes have better luck online than on my mobile app, but I recommend trying both. To look on your app, select the search button and type "Starlight Safari" to be taken to the page. Click the blue "Check Availability" button to search for openings. You can also ask at the front desk at the resort or call the
Tours and Recreation line for help.
For future visits, you might enjoy
Wild Africa Trek. This safari adventure takes you on a rope bridge and includes delicious African snacks. Theme park admission is required, and be sure to look for availability as soon as your 60-day window opens.
Thanks again for stopping by
planDisney, Dyan! I hope your visit is full of wild times.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
