Hello! I’ll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort with a friend in late March to participate in the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend. What are some not-to-be-missed table service dining options you’d recommend for two adults? Thank you!

    Lauren,

There is nothing we like more at planDisney than food questions!

Let me tackle this geographically, so that you have some different choices around Walt Disney World.

Magic Kingdom Park: Around the Magic Kingdom I prefer some of the table service dining in the nearby resorts. For an upscale experience with an amazing view of the fireworks, my wife and I prefer the California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Actually, that is our favorite restaurant in all of Walt Disney World. There is also Citricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. For something a bit more lively with a higher amount of families in the room, but also providing a great view of the Magic Kingdom at night, you might consider 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

EPCOT: There are so many amazing restaurants to choose from in the World showcase, but for us it is usually Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Italy pavilion. There are fancier choices, to be sure, but we opt for this because of the amazing pizza. We also like La Hacienda de San Angel for the lake side setting.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: While I won't deny that our family loves 50's Prime Time Cafe for the nostalgic fun, I have really fallen in love with both the Hollywood Brown Derby, and even more so the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge, which offers some lovely outdoor dining.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Tiffins Restaurant is wonderfully exotic, and a great treat.

Disney Springs: Like with the EPCOT World Showcase, Disney Springs has an embarrassment of riches. The BOATHOUSE is a great seafood-forward choice, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' offers elevated comfort food, and Wine Bar George has cuisine that is every bit as good as the extensive wine list.

So this is a first stab at some options. But write me back with more about  your preferences, and I can offer more ideas.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
