I'll be visiting AK for the first time & I'm worried about the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Is there a way to avoid the section with the giant fruit bats (& no glass to separate them from the visitors!) or do I need to skip the the Trek entirely? Thanks!

Hi, Jessica! There is no need to skip the Maharajah Jungle Trek altogether! Although I find the fruit bats fascinating, I can see how you (and others) don't care for them.  The Disney Imagineers must have known, too, because they created a by-pass around this part of the trail.  Look for the signage just before the bat house, and you can avoid the area completely with a side walkway. You will go straight into what I believe is the most beautiful section of the Maharajah Jungle Trek - Tiger Forest. You can wait for the rest of your travel party there.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
