Hi. I'll be taking my third child (6y old girl) on a special mother-daughter trip on April 8-12 at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is our first time to Disney World and I feel a bit overwhelmed w/ planning. I want to maximize our time. Any recommendations?

Hi, Diana!  I love taking my girls individually on special Mother-Daughter vacations!  It makes them feel important to get one on one time with mom!

If you are going this year on April 8 - 12, the first thing I would suggest is considering your dining plans.  If you have not already made dining reservations, and you want to enjoy some of the table service dining experiences, you want to check right away to see what reservations you may be able to get.  If you visit Disney World Dining Reservations, you can plug in a couple of your dates and see if the restaurants you want are available.  I would plan my park days around the available dining.  For example, if you want to eat at the Crystal Palace, see what days the Crystal Palace has open reservations, and plan to do the Magic Kingdom that day.

If dining doesn't matter, you can plan your days by making the most of them.  You can get some extra park time by visiting the parks with Extra Magic Hours.  You can visit Disney World Calendar and click on the theme park you'd like to check times for.  Click the map at the top to show your dates, and you can plan your days based on where Extra Magic Hours are.  I love the morning EMH - it's a great way to get a jump start on the day.

I hope this gives you some things to think about while you finish your planning!  I'm here if you need me, so come on back!
