    I'll be staying at the Grand Floridian for a conference in July and I'm bringing my family. Other then the pool, what kinds of affordable activities can my kids (5,3) and husband do while I'm away for 1/2 a day?

    Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of my favorite places to call 'home' at the Walt Disney World Resort, and I am so pleased that you will have the opportunity to experience this Deluxe Resort with your family.

    The resort offers a nice assortment of recreation options, from the family-friendly swimming pools to an arcade and more. Make sure to look over the Recreation Calendar that you will be provided with upon checking in to the resort. This guide will list times and locations for family-friendly fun and games that are not otherwise listed on the Walt Disney World website.

    If your family wants to get out and explore even more of the Walt Disney World Resort, the complimentary Disney transportation can take them on several budget-friendly adventures. Your family can take a ferry boat to Magic Kingdom Park and back, or hop aboard the monorail to explore the other Deluxe Disney Resort hotels along the Resort Monorail loop. Downtown Disney is also a great budget-friendly place to explore, and it offers many unique shopping and dining experiences -- including an AMC theater, bowling alley and more!
