Hi. I'll be heading out to WDW for the first time in mid to late April 2016, and I'll be celebrating my 45th birthday there. Also, I plan on traveling alone. Any suggestions on how I can have a magical birthday week there?

Hi, Scott!  The first thing you want to do is make sure everyone knows it's your birthday.  Wear a birthday button, which you can get at your resort or at guest services at any of the theme parks.  Note it on your resort reservation and your dining reservations that  you are enjoying a birthday celebration.  You never know where pixie dust might come from, and the more people know, the more likely they are to be able to find some to sprinkle in your direction.

Take a look at some of the things that are off the beaten path.  Maybe treat yourself to a behind the scenes tour, like the Wild Africa Trek or the UnDISCOVERed Future World tour at Epcot.  There are quite a few backstage tours that are really interesting, and a great way to spend some time out of the crowds.

Browse the menus of the amazing array of dining experiences available to you at Walt Disney World.  Have you always wanted to do a character meal?  Now's the time to do it.  Ring in your 45th birthday by dining with Chef Mickey, or enjoy an incredible gourmet meal at Victoria and Albert's.

Whatever you choose to do, I can't think of a happier place to celebrate your birthday.  I hope you have an amazing first trip and a banner year.
