Hiya, Michelle! Welcome to
planDisney.
I have three grandbabies, and no trip to
Walt Disney World is complete without a meal at
Chef Mickey's. Even at full capacity, it can be challenging to get a
dining reservation for this super popular restaurant. There are also a whole bunch of people traveling now - with travel restrictions loosening up, things are especially busy at Disney World.
There are a couple of things I want to recommend, Michelle. First, if you are already within your 60-day window, just keep checking. People do have to change plans or cancel reservations all the way up to the last minute, and if you can check a couple of times throughout the day, you may find one of those cancellations. I especially feel that checking after 10 at night has given me some success with hard-to-get restaurants.
If you are not yet within your 60-day window, look for reservations towards the end of your trip. Guests at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels not only can begin booking dining reservations 60 days before arrival, but they can book them for up to 10 days of their vacation. If you have the flexibility to pick the end of your trip, that might help a little bit.
Also, while I know it's not exactly what you were hoping for, you can see many of the same characters at
Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT. It's a delicious family-style meal, and we've always had great character interaction.
I am sending you as much virtual pixie dust as I possibly can, Michelle, and I've got fingers and toes crossed for you. I hope you find your reservation.
