I'd like to do the trail riding at FW while at WDW, but I don't really want to use a 'communal' helmet, I have my own from when I had a horse. Would I be allowed to use that, even if its an international helmet?

Hi, Amelia! This is a really great question, so I am glad you stopped by to check with us! I called a Cast Member this afternoon to check the policy on guests providing their own equipment for experiences such as Horseback Riding and discovered some information for you.

Guests are required to wear helmets during all horseback adventures, which are provided at no additional charge. The policy found by the Cast Member I spoke with did not clarify if a personal helmet could be used. However, he stated that some personal equipment is allowed during other tours, such as the Epcot Seas Adventure - DiveQuest, where guests are allowed to use their own dive masks. Our advice to you is to go ahead and bring your helmet. If you arrive and the Cast Members leading the ride that day prefer that you use the Disney-provided helmet, then there are lockers available at no cost in the area where you will check-in for your adventure. The lockers are large enough to store your helmet and anything else you may want to keep secure.

I hope you have a magical day at Tri-Circle D Ranch, Amelia! Thanks again for bringing your question to us. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
