I’d really like to see the Halloween decor at Ft. Wilderness on my trip-do you need to be staying there to rent a golf cart to see more?

    Howdy Mollie!

Fort Wilderness feels like a world apart at Walt Disney World. It’s relaxed, woodsy, and wonderfully old-Florida. Pair that easygoing vibe with the toe-tapping Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and the ever-cheerful Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, and you’ve got a can’t-miss detour any time you visit.

The campground truly glows during the Halloween season.  Fun fact: those eye-popping displays aren’t produced by Disney. They are a decades-long tradition that began in the early 1970s when campers started decorating their sites. Because guests create them, timing varies from loop to loop, and you may even spot Halloween décor hanging on into November.

Currently, golf carts rented through Fort Wilderness are reserved for registered guests staying at the resort. If you’re not staying there, you can still enjoy the atmosphere by strolling the loops. Please note that as Halloween night approaches, access to the campground may be limited to registered guests or those with confirmed dining reservations.  However, by early October, when you are likely to arrive, you should have no issues taking a stroll through the campgrounds.

May your visit be filled with magic and not-so-scary Halloween fun!
