Welcome, Traci, to planDisney. We're happy to answer your festive question!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is such a unique place to stay. And one of the best features of it, especially around the
holiday season, is the character that each camper brings with their decorations. It is a favorite pastime of Guests to decorate their cabins and campsites and tour the resort to see everyone else's. It's such a fun atmosphere and is sure to bring a smile to everyone's face!
All rules for decorating cabins and campsites are expected to be followed and will be enforced. Decorations must comply with both the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules and the rules specifically laid out on the
cabins' page and the
campsites' page. One of the rules that is pertinent to your question is that decorations currently cannot exceed 6 feet in height. Beyond these rules, Cast Members may also prohibit items that they deem harmful or disruptive.
It's important to note that these rules are in effect for the safety and enjoyment of your own travel party and other Guests. But don't worry, even within these rules, you'll be able to decorate your campsite or cabin in a way that is festive, fun, and unique to you. After all, the community that is built at the resort, especially during the
Halloween and
holiday seasons, is like no other. It really embodies the expression of "home away from home," which is so very important during the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
Traci, happy decorating, and
be sure to reach out again with any other questions you may have!
Happy, merry, holly, jolly season's greetings,
Matt
