Hi. I’d like to book the cake decorating experience at Amorette’s Patisserie when we visit Disney World. I can see online they sell gluten-free cake, but it doesn’t state in the experience description if we can decorate a gluten free one… Is this possible?

    Hello there magical friend,

Thanks so much for bringing your question to planDisney. I'm happy to help!

As a lover of sweets and a former cookie decorator, I've had my eye on the cake-decorating experience at Amorette's Patisserie for quite some time. I haven't been able to don an apron and spatula there just yet, but it's an experience I hope to enjoy with my daughter someday soon.

This experience is a perfect way to enjoy a little extra sweetness during an already magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will learn to decorate a Mickey or Minnie-themed domed cake and enjoy bottomless Bellini or Mimosas (for the adults) as well as an assortment of coffee and tea options during the 90-minute class. Each reservation includes one cake for a maximum of two guests but additional cakes are available to reserve for a few if you'd rather not share. Note that each class can only accommodate a maximum of 8 parties. Advance reservations are required and spots can fill up quickly.

Based on my research, guests will decorate a different Character Dome cake depending on the day of the week they visit. On Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays guests will decorate a Mickey Dome cake featuring Chocolate Chiffon Cake, Milk Chocolate Mousse, and Orange Pate De Fruit Jelly flavor profile inside. Minnie cakes with Lemon Chiffon Cake, White Chocolate Mousse, and Strawberry Pate De Fruit Jelly are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I've learned that these Character Dome cakes are, unfortunately, not gluten-free but there is a "gluten-friendly profile" available. I called Amorette's directly and learned that you can note gluten as an allergy when booking the reservation. You'll also need to call them after completing your booking to indicate the date and time of your reservation and request this gluten-friendly option. I'd recommend calling and speaking with one of the Cast Members first to make sure this recipe will work for your needs. You'll find the contact number listed toward the end of this page. Cast Members monitor the line Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST. I left a message and received a call back within 10 minutes, so they should be pretty prompt in getting back to you within business hours.

I hope this helps! Please come back and see us again with additional planning questions.

    Wishing you a sweet visit,
    Amy
