Welcome, Heather!
It's almost time to begin your magical vacation at The Place Where Dreams Come True:
The Walt Disney World Resort! My family and I have visited more times than I can count, and while each trip is unique, each one is always better than the previous. I can't wait for you to enjoy all of the magic that comes with a Disney Parks vacation!
Guests are welcome to bring reusable ice packs into the parks, yes. In fact, loose ice is prohibited in coolers, so ice packs are the way to go for sure. If you're bringing your own cooler, please be sure it meets the
guidelines, and is smaller than 24" x 14" x 18". If you're asking this because you want to pack water bottles, I want to give you a tip. My family and I do sometimes carry a reusable water bottle with us, but when we don't want to haul that around for the day, guests can request a free cup of ice water at any
Counter Service restaurant in the parks. That makes for an easier day because we can grab a few cups of water to consume throughout the day whenever we need them, and we don't have the extra weight to carry around with water bottles. Either way, especially during the summer, be sure to stay well hydrated. It's a lot of fun to play all day in the parks, but the heat can take a toll, so be safe and drink lots of water!
When we do bring our water bottles, we fill them up at night and pop them in the
mini-fridge that is available in most
Disney Resort rooms, including Disney's All Star Resorts. By morning, it's nice and cool and ready for a day at the parks!
I hope those details help as you get ready to begin your Disney adventure, Heather! Have the most amazing vacation ever!
