Ahoy, Margaret! Thanks for cruising by planDisney with your question. You must be getting so excited for your Eastern Caribbean voyage aboard the stunning
Disney Treasure!
With your August departure just around the corner, it’s a great time to start dusting off those suitcases and checking off your
packing list. When I recently sailed on the Disney Magic with a friend, our packing styles couldn’t have been more different; she had just a backpack and a carry-on, while I showed up with two full-sized suitcases!
As for your question...yes, you can keep your luggage with you at Port Canaveral, but only if it meets carry-on size requirements. Any larger bags must be checked at the terminal, where Disney Cruise Line representatives will collect your luggage and deliver it straight to your stateroom later in the day. Just be sure to attach the
Disney Cruise Line luggage tags that are mailed to your home prior to departure. These tags help ensure your bags make it safely to your room. Disney allows each Guest to bring up to two checked bags, along with one day bag and a purse or briefcase.
If you’re planning to travel light with a backpack or a standard carry-on roller bag, you’re welcome to keep those with you through the boarding process and carry them onto the ship yourself. Just remember that you’ll need to hold onto them until your stateroom is ready, which typically happens between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. If you’re carrying your bags on yourself, they must fit through the port’s security scanner, which is no larger than 22” x 14” x 9”.
You may also bring sealed, packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages with you, as well as a limited quantity of
alcoholic beverages, provided they meet Disney Cruise Line’s guidelines. Just be sure to pack those items in your carry-on bag, as they cannot be transported in your checked luggage.
I hope that helps you feel more prepared, Margaret. If you think of any other questions, we’re all ears.
“Sea” ya real soon,
Eean
