I am hypoglycemic and need to bring my glucose checking supplies, which includes lancets, with me. Will I have a problem getting into the parks with them?. I have a separate container for used lancets and always properly dispose of them.

Hey there, hi there, Mercedes! Welcome! We're so glad you're here.

Mercedes, Walt Disney World absolutely will allow you to bring your supplies into the theme parks with you. There's a pretty thorough list of the things you are not allowed to bring, but personal, medically necessary items such as these are totally okay. If security asks to check your bag, I would let them know before they go poking around that they'll find the medical equipment in your bag so they know what was likely to have triggered an alert.

You'll also find every public restroom at Walt Disney World does have a sharps disposal container affixed to the wall, so if you don't want to carry around your personal one, you won't have to. And if you're staying at one of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, they can provide a sharps disposal container for you in your room. You just have to ask at the front desk.

One more thing to let you know, Mercedes - most of the dining experiences at Walt Disney World are already capable of accommodating special dietary requests. You can ask for a consult with a member of the culinary team if you have any questions about menu options.

I hope this helps take some of the stress out of your vacation planning, Mercedes! Fingers are crossed for a practically perfect vacation!
