Hello! My husband, 7 yr old daughter, and I are all runners- he did the WDW 2019 Dopey Challenge, and she and I ran the 5K. Is she age-eligible to compete in the 2020 Castaway Cay challenge, the one after WDW Marathon Weekend? Thanks!

Hi there, Kim! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to reach back out and ask another excellent Walt Disney World Resort question!

One of the most thrilling ways to experience Walt Disney World Resort is by participating in a runDisney race! Guests that do so have the opportunity to see both the inside and outside of the theme parks in a unique, seldom seen way! The largest runDisney event, by-far, is the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This event includes a long weekend of races, expos, and more that all lead up to the Walt Disney World Marathon

The Walt Disney World 5k is a great way for the whole family to get involved and runDisney! This event is open to all participants above the age of 5 years and all levels of experience are welcome! For those that will also be embarking on the Disney Dream for Disney's private island, they may also sign up for the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge. This event features another 5k on Castaway Cay on January 15th, 2020. Guests that register in the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge must complete one Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend event in addition to the 5k held at Castaway Cay. All runDisney 5k race policies apply to this event so there should be no problem with your daughter registering for the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge!

Have fun continuing to plan for your trip to Walt Disney World Resort and best of luck completing your races!
